Dr. Melanie Scott is originally from New Brunswick. She completed an advanced major in Biology at St. Francis Xavier University in 2002 and her Doctor of Optometry at the University of Waterloo in 2007. After beginning her career in Vancouver, she moved to Ottawa in 2012 — with her husband and their two French bulldogs — and joined the Merivale team the same year.
Dr. Scott enjoys seeing a wide range of patients, from children to seniors, and has a special interest in myopia management. She is an avid traveller and has participated in eye-care missions in Ghana, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. Dr. Scott is a member of the College of Optometrists of Ontario, the Canadian Association of Optometrists, and the Ontario Association of Optometrists.
