Dr. James Han is a Canadian Board-Certified optometrist proudly serving the Ottawa community in both English and French. He completed his Honours Bachelor of Science in Ophthalmic Medical Technology at the University of Ottawa (2022) before earning his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science (2026). During his training he completed clinical externships at FYidoctors Smithers and FYidoctors Miramichi, where he gained extensive experience in ocular disease management and took part in eye-care outreach to rural and underserved communities.
Dr. Han has a genuine passion for specialty contact lenses in the management of ocular disease and myopia, including scleral and orthokeratology lenses, and finds it especially rewarding to help patients find comfortable, effective solutions for their unique eyes and lifestyle. His enthusiasm for specialty lens care was recognized with the Gas Permeable Lens Institute (GPLI) Clinical Excellence Award upon graduation. He is equally passionate about the assessment and treatment of dry eye disease — including IPL, LLLT, and plasma-pen therapies — to relieve daily discomfort and improve visual function.
Dr. Han is a member of the College of Optometrists of Ontario and the Ontario Association of Optometrists, and looks forward to serving the Ottawa region.
