During 2022, the Merivale Vision Care family worked hard to grow, learn, and give back.

The holiday season and its joyous spirit are upon us, and no matter how you celebrate we truly hope that this season brings you and your loved ones the deepest sense of joy. During 2022, the Merivale Vision Care family worked hard to grow and learn and give back as much as we could to our community, and looking back, we are proud to say we did it.

Our team worked incredibly hard to foster family energy in the clinic with many spirit days, staff birthday celebrations, staff learning seminars, and our annual team holiday celebration where we came together to let our hair down and celebrate the holiday season. We believe fostering a happy team leads to happy patients and a happy community. We also gave back to those in need in our community all year long through several successful initiatives.

During 2022 we celebrated Heart Month in February to support The Heart Institute and its life-saving healthcare initiatives.

We celebrated International Women’s Day in March in support of Zonta International, an incredible organization that lifts women up right here in our community.

In April we partnered with the Canadian Cancer Society in support of their Daffodil Campaign which provides funds for cancer-busting research and support to those experiencing cancer.

During the back-to-school period, we donated 300 backpacks to local youth in need in our community via the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa.

Over the festive period, we are working hard to Fill the Foyer with our partner CAPCORP in support of the Ottawa Food Bank. At the time of writing this article, Merivale Vision Care will be donating $8000 in support of the Ottawa Food Bank, and our sister office Wellington Vision Care will be donating $1600 to the Parkdale Food Center.

Speaking of our amazing sister location, Wellington Vision Care, we were so excited and proud to see WVC launch their in-house, luxury eyewear, private shopping experience called The Vault. Fun fact about WVC: during the summer, Hallmark filmed one of their 2022 Christmas movies entitled “The Most Colourful Time of the Year” there! Even more exciting, our other sister clinic, Ottawa Vision Therapy, has grown by leaps and bounds in 2022.

Thank you all for being part of the Merivale Vision Care family, we truly would not be here without the support from you and your families. Our greatest passion as eye care professionals is to deliver excellent vision for life’s precious moments, and our team is so grateful for all of you. Wishing you the most joyous of holiday seasons, however, you celebrate, and all the best for the upcoming New Year. See you soon, 2023!
