June 2022 Covid Protocol & Mask Update

Last Updated:

June 11, 2022 marked our most recent change in Covid protocol.

June 11, 2022 marked our most recent change in Covid protocol, as medical clinics are no longer covered under the Provincial mask mandate.  We remain committed to providing access to eye care and our Doctors at Merivale Vision Care, Wellington Vision Care, and Ottawa Vision Therapy have elected to continue wearing masks.  Patients and staff will be strongly encouraged to wear a mask.

The comfort & wellbeing of our patients remains a top priority. If you would like a member of the team to put their mask on, they will happily comply!  As always, we will continue to disinfect all medical equipment between patients and look forward to seeing you in the clinic.  Thank you for your patience as we navigate these challenging transitions as they arise.

Effective June 11, 2022 we have updated Merivale Vision Care’s patient care protocol to the following:

• Symptom Screening: If you have any cold and flu symptoms or if you have been instructed by Ottawa Public health to isolate, please do not enter and call or e-mail to reschedule your appointment.

• Increased sanitization: Examination rooms and equipment will be thoroughly disinfected between patients using medical grade disinfectants. All glasses that have been handled or tried on will be disinfected.

• Use of masks: All Doctors will wear masks while in exam rooms and interacting with patients.  Patients and staff are strongly encouraged to wear masks.  Staff will happily put on a mask if requested by a patient.

• Online resources: We have an online store where you can find all of your favorite eye care products and contact lenses and have them shipped directly to your door. Free shipping applies to all annual contact lens supplies as well as 6 month supplies of daily lenses.
